ICT Agricultural Extension Services in Sindh
Agriculture Extension Services in Sindh, which are primarily delivered face-to-face, face challenges due to the low ratio of extension agents to farmers. Given the high mobile usage among farmers, Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) offer a valuable solution. The Directorate of Information Technology, Directorate General Agriculture Extension Sindh Hyderabad is providing ICT Agricultural Extension Services through an ICT Agricultural Extension Services Centre in Hyderabad and three divisional sub centers in Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, and Larkano. Key activities include a Farmer Helpline, video and SMS updates, Facebook live programs, Android apps, a YouTube channel, mobile cinema shows, youth internships, online training, a digital magazine, and radio programs.
